2013 Charleston Battery Challenge Cup

The inaugural Charleston Battery Challenge Cup finished up play on Monday with the Chicago Fire Academy teams making a statement by winning all (3) of the USSDA matches to complete the sweep of all three divisions as champions: U14 Pre, U16, and U18. This is the 2nd year in a row that the Chicago Fire Academy teams have won the Challenge Cup. Congratulations to the Chicago Fire organization that also brought their U13 & U14 boys teams, the Indiana Fire Academy teams and the Kentucky Fire U13 boys.

The local host club, SUnited FC-Mt. Pleasant. had (4) teams win their divisions:Girls U9, Boys U11, U13, and U14. The other club with multiple champions was CASL, which won the Girls U13 and Boys U12 (11v11) divisions. The remaining champions were: Boys U9 (SASL Storm), U10 (MPSC Flying Fish III), U11 Black (DISA 01 Arsenal), and Girls U10 (SCUFC 03 Red).

On behalf of SC United Battery, SCUFC, SCUFC-MP, and Lowcountry Soccer, we want to thank all of the wonderful teams that participated in the tournament. The 71 teams represented 25 clubs from 7 states. We wish them all a successful spring season.
