      Check in will be on Friday, February 10th from 5-9 PM at the Commerce Center, located at 1099 Gum Branch Rd., Jacksonville, NC 28540.

      Teams entering the Matt Helms Memorial Shootout will be grouped according to past playing record to make the most competitive divisions possible.

    • Visit Onslow County
    • The Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission is proud to partner with JASA, OCSA, and SSA for the 10th year of the Matt Helms Shootout. The tournament is held in honor of Matt Helms. This year, frunds raised will be granted in the form of scholarships to players that otherwise would not have the opportunity to play soccer. Funds will also go towards advancing youth athletics in Onslow County through special events. This event has become a time where the community remembers not only a little boy who loved the game of soccer, but also a chance to remind the community that life is short and to enjoy it fully. We hope you will continue to support the event and the advancement of youth athletics in Onslow County.
    • FIELD LOCATIONS
       
      The event is being supported by JASA, OCSA, and SSA. The size of the event will dictate which fields are utilized for the event. We will keep all teams informed.
    • Goalie Wars
       The Matt Helms Memorial Shootout is proud to host Goalie Wars during the tournament weekend.  Every Keepers favorite training game is now a tournament within the tournament.  You do not have to be a keeper to participate.  You only need a love for the game.  The tournament will be Saturday evening with more details to follow.   
    • Sportsmanship Award
      Referees will observe the players to determine who will be chosen for this award at the final matches.
      One player from each team in the final matches will be awarded this honor.
